So far what Trump says he will deliver he does even if there is much bleating and dubious tactics from the right-on liberal left.

I must admit I am surprised at this although it may be largely symbolic. It is far easier to have an 'electronic' wall something I understand they already have in many paces.

Trump will be out of office well before building actually starts. So it will be cancelled.
Dream on Eddie.

i hope you are right, don;t know about him being out of office, but a wall like this isn't sustainable
Looks pretty sustainable to me.

However like I said above I suspect this is largely symbolic. The 'real' wall will be mostly electronic.
Question Author
to cover thousands of miles even electronically, how does that work?
Where there is a will there is a way Emmie. Sensors and CCTV are obvious primary candidates.

you need a small army to man the wall? or however it will turn out, you still need man power.
Woohoo! 80 metres completed, so only another 1,900 miles to go.

And it is costing Mexico nothing, and the US taxpayer $1.6 Billion.

It will be a suitable monument to the folly of the Trump Presidency.
' Sensors and CCTV are obvious primary candidates.'

agree - and that will mean jobs for US citizens which will only be a good thing (according to Trump) as they will need monitored.
If he's got any gear left over can he come and build a wall between NI and Eire?
A physical wall ( as promised by Trump ) is never going to be built .

He has asked for 1.6 billion for part of the wall .
How much of the wall does that represent ?

Congress ( and the mexicans ) ain't going to stump up the cost , so it may be started , but quietly abandoned .

There is no certainty that he will get a second term - the democrats may return to power .

The only winners out of this will be the company chosen to build the initial slabs
It states they will test with jackhammers. The typical Mexican trying to cross will of course have a compressor with him to operate the jackhammer and hand out earplugs. Why aren't they testing with explosives? that's what will be used by those trying to get through.
The wall is going to be transparent. Invisible. See-through.

// President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Wednesday night that his proposed wall along the US-Mexico border would need to be see-through so that people on the US side wouldn't get hit by massive sacks of drugs tossed over it. //

// "One of the things with the wall is you need transparency," Trump said. "You have to be able to see through it. In other words, if you can't see through that wall — so it could be a steel wall with openings, but you have to have openings because you have to see what's on the other side of the wall. //

// Trump also told reporters he was serious about pursuing a wall covered in solar panels, which he said at a rally last month would allow for Mexico to "pay much less" for the structure because of the energy created as a result. //

Comedy genius.
doesnt matter how tall or how thick the wall is - shouldnt be too hard to tunnel under it.
If we were to build such a wall we would first send out a health and safety team, just to make sure those who wished to breach it wouldn't come to any harm.
What about those funny mirrors you saw at the circus?
omg, I thought you were joking.

But he really said that.

People who live behind glass walls shouldn't throw drugs.
Are the Mexicans good at pole vaulting ?
anne, James Bond had an invisible car at one stage, didn't he? So the technology is definitely there.

(He didn't seem to be able to find where he'd left it in subsequent films, though. Usual supermarket carpark problem.)
