Yet again Hammond puts the UK down. Whilst I expect him to be relistic as chancellor he should be talking the country up not putting it down.

It is becomeing clear that he is trying to sabbotage the leave process, probably for personal belief or gain so IMHO it reaaly is time to sack spreadsheet Phil.

He should have been sacked months ago.Let's hope that Mrs May finds the guts to do just that when she has a reshuffle of the cabinet.
At least one of Johnson and Hammond surely have to be sacked. Cabinet ain't big enough for the both of them...
Yes, and May should fall on her sword too.
Khandro, that won't happen until Brexit is sorted out.
Question Author
Johnson is talking up the Country, and reminding May of the referendum result so no need for him to go.

Hammond on the other hand is talking down the country and as Chancellor that is totally the wrong thing to do and very damaging.
Question Author
I agree Danny, much as she is not my choice really we are stuck with her. That is why it is important ministers like Johnson hold her to account.
I dragged Johnson into this with some good reason -- it's clear that May is being dragged one way by Hammond and another by Johnson. Which one you sack depends rather on your point of view. It will, presumably, come as no surprise that I'd rather see Johnson go, but that aside I agree that if Hammond and May are repeatedly seen to be in disagreement then that's not a good thing and just continues to undermine her leadership.
Another reason for Hammond to go is the amount of flak he is getting from business leaders.
May can't and won't sack anybody, as it will indicate she was wrong by appointing them in the first place.

But what exactly is he saying that isn't true ? His Cabinet colleague is making that weekly trek over to Brussels and is coming back empty-handed, every time.

She is standing by while her Foreign Secretary makes a pillock of himself every time he opens his mouth.

Perhaps she should consider sacking herself ?
Sack the saboteur! Perhaps his mate Osborne(not Ozzy) will give him a job on the Russian owned L.E.S.
If only "making a pillock of yourself" every time you opened your mouth was in the AB set of guidelines. :))
May is fiddling while Rome burns....she has the answer but just doesn't have the cojones to deal with it.

She was promoted way above her pay grade....she was a pee-poor Home Secretary and and even worse PM.

//May can't and won't sack anybody, as it will indicate she was wrong by appointing them in the first place.//

What utter tosh. So you are saying no leader can ever have a reshuffle apart from when they take power?

//But what exactly is he saying that isn't true ?//

It's the way it is put. As Chancellor he should be realist but put an upbeat note on it rather than put it down. What he says has a direct effect on the economy so he should not be siding with the other party and talking the UK down.

//His Cabinet colleague is making that weekly trek over to Brussels and is coming back empty-handed, every time.//

Clearly you are not in the know on how negotiations work. Tell you what Mickey I have a second hand Ford Ka here, only 100K on the clock. 250K to you.

//She is standing by while her Foreign Secretary makes a pillock of himself every time he opens his mouth.
//

Firstly that is a matter of opinion, secondly what Boris says does not have the effect on the economy like Hammonds utterences do.

//May is fiddling while Rome burns....she has the answer but just doesn't have the cojones to deal with it. //

True, she should just walk away as that is what will happen anyway. But I can imagine what you and your remoaner mates (note I did not use the term leaver) would do and say.
I think you're being quite oversensitive.

At some point a decision needs to be made about whether the UK is the kind of place where people are encouraged to disagree with/ criticise the government, or whether it is treasonous to "talk the country dowm" (which is hysterical-speak for "say bad things about Britain.") You can't have both.
YMB....you voted for her and her Party....I didn't, so perhaps you should try attacking someone else !
Question Author
I'm not attacking you, I simply answered your points. it is commonly known as a debate Mickey.
Question Author
Yes I voted for the Party because on the whole I agreed with many things.

But like many people I didnt agree with everything, I'd be surprised if any Party reflected 100% of the voter. Apart from you of course becasue you seem to just accept what you are told without though so long as it came from Labour.
You may be answering my points but it doesn't alter what is happening. May is not in charge, what ever you say....she is a weak and indecisive PM.
But debate is not allowed for Corbynistas ymb.
