Theresa May will shortly reshuffle her Cabinet, and Johnson will be removed as Foreign Secretary (he has been awful after all).

May will want to demote him, but keep him in her Cabinet where she can keep him under control. A minor role somewhere, where he can't do much damage.

But Johnson does not have to accept a minor role, and could go to the back benches. He might be freer to attack May from there and intensify stealing her job.

So what is Boris' fate in the near future ?

If she demotes him he will have little choice but to go to the back benches and begin his campaign from there.

She would be very foolish to remove him, keep your firends close but your enemies closer.

After a long period as PM he'll probably get the chop and kicked up into the House of Lords (should it still exist).

He got Foreign Secretary because it kept him out of the country a lot of the time. That was supposedly to keep him out of touch, but has obviously not worked.
May coyld give him a more junior post. Northern Ireland used to be the favoured posting for awkward politicians
But May could appoint him as a Brexit Minister. Whatwver deal Brexit Boris worked out would undoubtedly annoy half the country, and damage him.

As a Labour supporter, I would hope Boris was in Number Ten asap. Matters would soon come to a head. He would begger everything up, big time, and then have no option but to call another Election.
