You wonder whether people who are members of the British royal family have accommodation equal to a prince?

Why?

As to Toronto - not sure. I assume there would be a bidding process where cities who want to host the games put forward reasons why they should host with accompanying plans detailing their plans for television coverage, contestant accommodation, organisational efforts etc.
They probably have bigger rooms in case they need to use wheelchairs?
How very anti British of you to resent the princes accommodation!
Those taking part in Invictus have lost limbs and been injured in combat.
Thus I'm sure they've spent a fair bit of their service in more Spartan surroundings.
As he's an ex Serviceman too who brought about these games in order to honour and celebrate them I'm sure none would begrudge him a little R&R in a plush hotel with some rather nice female company.

Oh, I almost forgot.....give it a rest AOG.
No disrespect to harry, but I'm sure there are plenty people behind the scenes who have worked very very hard to have these games ?
Yes, there is a bidding process - for example...

//2018 Invictus Games
Bids to host the 2018 Invictus Games closed in December 2015. The Gold Coast in Australia announced its intention to bid, using facilities built for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. In November 2016 Sydney, Australia was announced as the host city.//

What a mean-spirited OP.
Prince Harry is I'm sure well aware of how much hard work goes into making the games happen, would staying in a tent or youth hostel make some kind of statement?
As a self-regarded champion of 'The Best of British', AOG, you really do make a large amount or sour and mean-spirited posts aimed at people attempting to exhibit that on a world stage...
"2017 is a year steeped in rich Canadian military history, marking the anniversaries of historic battles that shaped and defined the nation. It's also the year when Canada will commemorate it's 150th year of Confederation," he said. "I cannot think of a better way to mark this milestone than by paying tribute to the soldiers and veterans who have served their country so bravely."

which is why Harry allegedly chose Toronto
*of sour and mean-spirited....
oh, and as for the accommodation, he's young, free, single and reasonably wealthy, so is Miss Markel, they can stay where they like
(unless AOG tells us otherwise)
Would him staying with other injured ex servicemen/women competitors show more solidarity ?
You might want to compare the speed with which Canada came to Britains aid in WW2 with the rather leisurely approach taken by the USA.
If he stayed with the men he'd be seen as snubbing the women , vice versa he'd be called a philanderer...

Can't do right for some can he?
have you not googled the contestants accommodation yet then AOG?
A royal philanderer? Perish the thought :-)
i expect the invictus games contestants are accomodated in a manner suitable for their disabilities, so yes, i expect they are suitably accommodated
Sheraton Centre Hotel is the base for most participants, looks very nice.
Why Toronto

"Early last year, Prince Harry made the exciting announcement that he was bringing the Games to Toronto in Sept 2017. In a taped video message, the royal explained why Canada was the perfect place to host this year's competition.
