What can be done about it apart from stretching piano wire across the road? I also understand the police wont give chase if these thugs remove their helmets in case they get hurt. Why does it matter if they get hurt or even killed? At least it's one less piece of thrash roaming the streets.

It seems that a simple rule applied by the courts that "if you fail to stop when requested to do so by a uniformed officer or a properly marked police vehicle, then you surrender all your rights to any claim against the police" is what is needed.

I feel for the poor police officers who are (at present) "damned if they do chase and vilified if they don't".
Perhaps they are also thinking of Jo Public that may be hurt in any pursuit of these thugs.
Yes indeed, islay - but they do also have a policy of stopping any pursuit if the miscreant might be seriously hurt ... (hence the scumbags removing helmets)
The joy of polictal correctness! No doubt I will get slaughter for this comment! That why we live in a country of free speech!!!!!!
If caught I would impose a maximum sentence, followed by a life's ban on owning a motorised vehicle.
If the scumbag removes its helmet, isn't that breaking the law?

Don't know what to suggest to get rid of the problem tho.
Free speech?????????

What country do you live in fraser?

What has that got to do with moped crime?
And bang on time a curber of free speech pops up.
Me? A curber of free speech? You've got to be kidding me...
It's not a matter of free speech, I'm just wondering what the heck it has to do with anything else in this thread.
//And bang on time a curber of free speech pops up.//
No Ummm I think he is talking about himself!!
Jim...that was my point!
I'm unsure what PC/Left/Right/Nazi/Racist bletherings have to do with anything but it is an incredibly tough crime to crack for the Police.

They should be allowed to be as robust as possible in apprehending these thugs.
How times have changed.Back in the 60's one of my police colleagues gained the nickname "Crasher" due to the amount of cars, with escaping criminals, that he had rammed.
If they remove their helmet in public it is very easy to track them down anyway.
Why was my answer remove? The leftards and liberals got upset!!!
You come back with 'Leftard' and have to ask ?
//If they remove their helmet in public it is very easy to track them down anyway.//

Perhaps you should let the Police know how because I cant see an easy way. Once in a housing estate thats it unless you have the choppers and/or dogs out. These scum know this and are playing the lefty liberal justice system we have.
