Even Saint Tony and Bottler admit they were wrong. If you have a diesel car now is the time to flog it.

Nah, it's only London.
My beloved ST CDTI Mondeo was made to leave home in January. I saw this coming. I miss it, the torque was like a drug. Whenever I see one now I mourn.
Well my diesel only does around 17 mpg so a petrol one is not really a flier.

Will all this apply to commercial though?
Yes but not Black cabs apparently.

Buses, coaches and HGVs that do not meet the emissions standards will have to pay £100. The Ulez will apply to all types of vehicle except black taxis.

Does not apply to my diesel which is Euro7 compliant and cleaner than a petrol engine. (as well as doing over 45 mpg in town and over 70mpg on a long run)
Yeah but who wants a moped Edd? (^_*)
It's a Vauxhall Zafira Tourer with 7 seats! and the 1.6 eco diesel engine.
Now is the time to realise authority will defecate on anyone, any part of society, from any height, if it makes it easier to say they are getting things done.

Politicians like that ought to be the ones facing tougher penalties. I've yet to know of a mayor that proved worth voting for.
I'll keep my pickup thanks!
Is Mrs Mays Jag an oil burner?

Blimey, how does it manage to pull away with a full load?
I'm waiting for a scrappage scheme. No plans to drive the car in city centres anyway.
And, talking about pollution and the cost of fuel, why don't buses switch their engines off when parked up in a bus station?
6 speed gearbox. It does OK. I was surprised the engine is so small.
But a modern 1 litre engine is a powerful as a 1.6 was just 5 years ago!

Eddie: "Does not apply to my diesel which is Euro7 compliant and cleaner than a petrol engine." - err no, it still has nox and particulate emissions, that's what this is about not CO2.
"It's a Vauxhall Zafira Tourer with 7 seats! and the 1.6 eco diesel engine" - Ah yes that's the one that is not a brand name and never advertised wasn't it?
Question Author
Muntin: "I'm waiting for a scrappage scheme" - dream on, they'll have a "scrappage" scheme, effectively a forced one by hiking up fuel and excise duty.
TTT like all Euro7 diesel engines it has a particulate filter and uses 'Adblue' NOX elimination.
Euro7 & Euro8 engines are NOT included in the proposed ban on city center diesel vehicles.
Eddie....how can I tell if my new Fiesta's engine ( a 1.5tdi ) is an Euro 7 or 8 ?
The registration document might tell you, Mikey. I think new vehicles have to show it. I recently applied for my French pollution certificate - my car is too old for the Euro rating to be shown, so I'm not sure of the details, but I got the impression that new cars had it on the registration document.
bhg.....looking at the Registration Cert. and can't see any mention. Its says the CO2 is "94 G/KM"
Another UK Rip off
