Not a frequent user of FB, but last few days there has been a spurious link showing from time to time that famous people have passed away...our beloved Queen, Colin Firth, Sir David Attenborough, Rowan Atkinson, etc. This is complete crap.........FB seem to be aware of this, is this some nasty virus?

A bug in Facebook which made stupid halfwits vulnerable has apparently been traced back to 2004 the year it was launched.

It's not a virus per se. It's just that some people start a rumour that a celebrity has died, and it gains traction.

However, be wary of links from FB and Twitter, as you would a link from an unsolicited email. They could take you to dodgy websites where virus CAN be embedded.

This link, however - is safe.
