Appeal my **** , his term should be left as it is and his ****skin whipped with a bootlace.
Why he deserves to be punished in some way, but he received a six-year prison sentence for touching a 15-year-old girl intimately, so it is his sentence that needs appealing against.

In contrast the partner of that evil mother who murdered her infant child received three years and six months after being found guilty of causing or allowing Ayeeshia's death.

Is a life less serious than a touch?
Why?????

While.
You cannot compare cases and we are not privy to the full cases.

IMO the reason AJ sentence is so harsh is due to his abuse whilst in a position of trust.

Shouldn't all adults be in a position of trust, especially the likes of little Ayeeshia mother's partner?
If there is sufficient legal evidence, etc. for him to win his appeal then, of course, that is what ought to happen.

If not, then he ought to be encouraged to keep his head down and do his time.

AOG - dragging other separate dissimilar cases into any argument never works.
Yes they should BUT they don't have thousands of youngsters trying to get their attention everyday.
I think the Appeal Court can increase the sentence if they think it is too
lenient !
The appeal is only against the length of sentence and yes the court can increase it rather than decrease it.
The point is that a sentence of 5 years or more is never considered 'spent' , so if he can get it down to 4 years 11 months there will be a time when he does not have to declare the sentence unless he is applying for a job with children or vulnerable people.

Just proof that his sentence was wrong, so he has a right to appeal.
I know where you are coming from jack, but it is pretty grim that the bloke aog is talking about only got such a short sentence ...
//Just proof that his sentence was wrong, so he has a right to appeal//

He should have hired you as his lawyer!!
"The point is that a sentence of 5 years or more is never considered 'spent' ,"

Just a slight correction, Eddie. Sentences of four years or more are never spent. It used to be 30 months but was changed in 2014.
Thanks again NJ.
Apparently he has entered a separate appeal against conviction.
There is a school of thought that any criminal should just shut up and do his time, whatver the crime and sentence - and the more heinous the crime, the less available an apeal should be.

But the law is dispassionate, as it should be, and an appeal is a legal entitlement, and any convicted felon no doubt feels he he nothing to lose by running with the system.
Since when has being a professional footballer meant you are in a a position of trust?
Of course it does Talbot, you are looked up to as a 'hero' and are 'famous' you automatically gain a position of trust!
