At the moment the status of the people are described as asylum seekers.
If they are still awaiting a decision for a successful claim to their status then one should assume they are nothing more than diplaced persons.
To keep them under lock and key is a safe option for all the Dutch, not just the women.
If they have no ID then no one knows where they have come from and what,if any, organisations they belonged to or represent. They should not be allowed to wander at will throughout the country. They are a potential threat and it may not be a testerone bomb that will tick later.
If a politician puts the safety and security of his nation first then he is to be applauded and is not OTT or extreme in my opinion.
Retrocop I could not agree more. We as a nation are agreeing to the admission to our country of masses of people from an alien culture. They will be set free upon our cities and towns without vetting of any kind. Have they been convicted of serious offences in their own countries ? Who knows and our citizens will pay the price for this indifference.

Not OTT in my opinion.
I don't think that, given what we now know has happened (which is what a lot of us foretold, given the preponderance of single males and the culture generally) this reaction is OTT. I'm saddened that warnings were not heeded and women had to suffer this. The result of over-tolerance.

Better ideas include strict checks before anyone is allowed in and a hearty 'returns' policy -after a long course of living in an assertive female environment.
Hi, Retrocop, I'm turning up again like the proverbial..... Good answer.:)
Not OTT at all, we still need some sort of security
