Accidents are avoudable. No shlt.
I have seen some of those small domestic lifts in peoples houses, and they don't have much in the way of safety measures...its the same with those stair lifts, which have no safety measures at all ! Poor child.
oh dear..a lady fell through an escalator in a store and got mangled in Japan this week also, managed to throw her child to safety...take the stairs !

murraymints, take the stairs? You do know this lift was for the use of her disabled brother who can't take the stairs?

Now that is an accident that should just not have happened.
There is no way that floor panel should possibly lift/open up without having to unscrew or unbolt it first.
