What do we all think about this ? After all, if every woman voted for The Women's Equality Party, set up by comedian Sandi Toksvig, it would a landslide, wouldn't it ( ! )

Equality Party ? Why would any woman want to vote to lose their advantages and be treated as the equal to men ? It'd be like turkeys voting for Christmas.

To be fair, she is a Comedian!
but every woman won't, because to some it's more important to obtain equality not as a female but as part of their own minority interest group, be that based on race, colour, creed, or orientation.
A little of Sandi goes a very long way. She may not have universal appeal.
Agree with Douglas - apparently she can be quite difficult....

I think she is rather good on the News Quiz. Perhaps she is every man's nightmare...a clever and witty woman !

But to be honest, I can't see that she much of a chance of success here. Its a very narrow definition for a political Party. She says that its not a one-issue party, but Farage said that and look where that got us !
//but Farage said that and look where that got us //

Not sure what you meant by that?

And personally I like clever witty women.

You've obviously never listened to her, balders.

Women's Equality Party is an oxymoron. How can it be Equality if it's just for women ?
she was passed over for the main role in Have I Got News For You, in favour of the coke-snorting, prostitute-visiting Angus Deayton, because he was male. Good thinking, BBC.

^That must be one of the few things the BBC got right.
It's only an oxymoron if the two groups you are wishing to establish equality between are already equal. If they are not then it is entirely sensible to focus on the less-equal group, in an effort to return to equality.
//Good thinking, BBC. //

yes, because it led directly to the "guest presenter" concept, which seems to have worked nicely.

ymg....on many, many occasions, Farage has said that once he gets a referendum on an in/out of the EU, "My job will be complete"

He always described UKIP as a one-issue Party, but he clearly doesn't think so now. I am not sure when he changed his mind....when we weren't looking I expect !
