I know who I intend to vote for and I expect by now most other people know likewise. What with TV debates and endless mail through the letter box - enough is enough. Am I alone in looking forward to the relief of it all being over?

Change from one self -server to another?
Exactly, Daisy.
There is hope though, our tory candidate has stood for election twice before and lost twice before, on the down side though she is vice chairman of the conservative party.

Ours gets re-elected despite having had his snout deep, deep in the trough.
LOL, so was my boss, Hopkirk. And he is a Lord !.
I've never had any candidates knocking on my door. I've had letters from the Con and standing LibDem this time, but have never heard anything from the Labour candidate. I wish he'd do more to make himself known, to be honest.
Haven't had any candidates knock on our door either ( not for a good few elections now ) I wish they would, I have a few questions I'd like to ask.
All indications are that this will be the closest election ever. Not only does first and second (Con or Lab) look tied, but third and fourth could be very close (SNP or LibDems). That means that even a two party Coalition will not give a workable majority.

The five year parliament act would have to be repealed, and we will have to go through all this again in October.
Oh gawd, another 1974.
A lovely, young and handsome MP came to my door. Of course, I invited him in. We had a lovely chat. Gness would've been impressed. He was here for a good few minutes. Pity I haven't a shed with beer. He might have stayed. (lol)
Butterbun, gness is always impressed where sheds and beer is concerned ;-)
Not necessarily Gromit. The Lib/Dems and the SNP could both enter some form of agreement with Labour.
I have posted before about the possibility of a 3 way anti-Conservative dreamticket alliance.

It might happen, and it might work, but it could be like herding cats.
Dream or Nightmare?
Daisy Nonna,

The country seems to be very evenly split. Half will think its a dream and half will think its a nightmare.

The last election was very close leaving the Conservatives with no majority. It looks like very little has changed between the two main parties. However, the SNP could take third place and are more likely to form an alliance with Labour than Conservative (but we all said that about the LibDems 5 years ago).
gromit. I doubt very much SNP will get into bed with the tory's
The idea of getting into bed with a politician is somewhat disturbing,
Who gets most of the duvet?
The one thats in government, Daisy.
anneasquith

Before the last election, the idea that the LibDems could support a minority Conservative Government was inconceivable, which is why many, including myself, voted for them.

Just because a Conservative / SNP arrangement seems unlikely does not mean it can't happen. When it comes to politicians ditching principals to attain some degree of power, do not write off any odd couplings.
gromit, I suppose it's not impossible but i doubt it will ever happen.
