This seems to get worse the more information that is released. From my local paper. However, he's not here to defend himself so...............

"Investigators were given "macabre accounts" of disgraced presenter Jimmy Savile "acting unacceptably" with dead bodies in the mortuary of a hospital.

An investigation into Savile's abuse at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) heard the now-dead entertainer claimed to have "interfered with the bodies of deceased patients", including performing sex acts on them.

Investigators said while there was no way of proving Savile interfered with the bodies in this way, they concluded that "it is evident his interest in the mortuary was not within accepted boundaries".

Mikey....hopefully victims feel they have a voice now
Ummmm..what a pity it is that so many had to wait for so long in order to be heard.

But I still maintain that the people that kept silent when told about his behaviour and the ones who actively made sure that he was protected, are as guilty as Savile himself, and most of them are still alive, and maybe still practising.
Some of things ignored I am stunned about quite honestly

a nurse reports he boasted about using protheses as jewellery

why is she telling us now, when she didnt mention it at the time ?

The other thing is that Broadmoor, they cant identify about half the people involved - which means it has to be third party - Madge told me her friend SAID that she thought....

PP...if you read all the reports in the media today, you will see that on numerous occasions, victims DID complain and nothing was done. They complained to their mothers, Hospital staff, Teachers and the Police, but they were all ignored. A lot of these people were attacked by Savile repeatedly, over a period in some cases of many years, but who can blame them for not making repeated complaints, when they were ignored in the first place

Other health professionals also complained, at the highest level, and were told that they themselves would face serious disciplinary procedures if they persisted. A staff member, from Broadmoor if think, was interviewed on The World at One today, who complained to senior managers in a meeting that was also attended by Police Officers, and she was told very angrily that she was completely out of order and faced the sack if she ever complained in the same way again.

We shouldn't be surprised that Savile acted the say he did. He was a highly intelligent and manipulative serial offender, There is now growing evidence that he had a serious mental health condition.....what else could explain keeping his dead mothers body in the house for such along time ? His actions in the Mortuary would be of interest to the Medical Profession as well.

The people that should be looking over their shoulders today, are all the people in authority that allowed him to continue for such a long time, when there was overwhelming evidence that they were aware of his disgusting behaviour.

Let me quote Edmund Burke at this point :::

"All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"

This has never been truer than the current Savile case.
Mikey, //What I want to come out of all this …is an explanation of how he got away with it for so long.//

Because people see only what they want to see – and we see that in action all the time. It happens on AnswerBank constantly – and if you want to move a bit closer to home, think you and the Labour party. ;o)
I believe he did an interview, where he stated he had sat with his own mother's body for five days.
It gets worse by the day, now we hear he was so highly thought of in Broadmoor that he virtually ran the place. He had his own rooms and lived there Monday to Friday only going home at weekends. Staff who agreed to have sex with him were promoted and had overtime paid for the time they spent with him. Those who refused his advances or complained about his behaviour were reported as incompetent and forced to resign.
Eddie, where did you get all that from?
Naomi - it was reported on Panorama recently.

That was reported on Panorama? Have the people responsible for orchestrating that been named and shamed?
^No advance on that?
