Maybe, but you wouldn't have a leg to stand on!
I think you'd stand a better chance if you pleaded insanity.

What amazes me is his defence - he thought it was a burglar. Oh that's all right then, carry on the slaughter.

Good job you are not on the jury then.
It is South Africa canary. The burglars there dont wear stripy jumpers and carry a bag marked swag, they carry arms and aer only too happy to use them on you just for your car keys.
I believe Mr Pistorious is mounting the only defence he can - however incredulous it is going to sound in court - because the alternative is simply to plead guilty.
This is going to be an interesting case. Pistorious can't deny shooting his wife...indeed he has admitted that he did kill her. But instead he says that he thought it might be a burglar, taking a shower in his bathroom. Remarkably fastidious burglar !
I was a bit confused this morning, too many Oscars on the front pages!
they weren't married. This is more up to date information.

There are no juries at trials in South Africa, and his fate will ultimately be decided by Judge Thokozile Masipa

How about that, no juries in South Africa.
One of the damning things is that his security contacted him and he said there was nothing happening AFTER he had shot her.
tony, did you read the link, no juries, good eh?
Yes, emmie. I was very surprised to see that S.A. don't have juries.
not sure i was, some SA friends talked about this. This case has more holes than swiss cheese.
This case has more holes than swiss cheese.

I know, emmie, however it will be all down to the judge.
i remember reading that the distance of his home to others would preclude anyone hearing noise, yet the woman witness says she heard screams -
i wonder how long the case will take, it isn't cut and dried.
Bloody weeks, I should imagine,emmie.
I thought the woman witness today was very good. She wouldn't be swayed by his defence lawyer and stuck to her guns despite him labouring point after point.
No chance he'll be found guilty.
