Apparently Clegg now thinks he can work with Labour. As he is likely to end up with less than half his present number of seats after next years election, exactly what does he think he can bargain with ? Is there nothing this man won't consider to stay in the limelight ?

Thanks bouncer...a great political hero of mine !
I wonder what Nye would have thought of New Labour?
I think he'd have taken greater issue with the "loonie left" / militant tendency of the 70s and early 80s which forced New Labour to come into existence because Old Labour had made themselves unelectable.
he is like the wind, a bloody nuisance and very changeable

I don't know. But I do know that he thought one way to silence opponents of the proposed health service( mainly doctors, strangely enough) was to stuff their mouths with gold.
Your ventriloquism wasn't as impressive as I had hoped:

"ello ister Glegg goo goo ancy a gottle of geer?" etc etc.

(I've changed the G to a C in your title)

But actually, maybe it's Clegg that's the puppet?
and he did, didn't he,

Nye fought his own battles within the Labour Party but he was a pragmatist, and its my opinion that he would have thought that New Labour would have been much preferable to Old Tory. Also he changed tack of nuclear disarmament, as many people did after him. Would that we had someone with balls like him in the Labour Party today. And without him, we may never have had the NHS.
You are wrong, mikey - he is pushing for an alliance with Salmond's Scottish Nazi Party......

Thanks Ed for correcting my typo but you have lost me with the Archie Andrews bit ?
Clegg is nothing but a political prostitute plying his trade in the corridors of Westminster - "Looking for business, sir?"
Clegg, puppet perhaps
Archie Andrews was a dummy operated by ventroquilist, Peter Brough.
