I have just received three powerpoint files with graphic pictures of what happens to the arm of an 8 year old boy who pinched some food on a market, very disturbing photos of homo sexuals and how women are disfigured who refuse to marry the man that is chosen for them.

This is all done in the name of peace and love to make the offenders aware of their shortcomings, the religion of peace and love.

Should we actively reject this cruel and invasive religion in Society or should we continue as now, so we will all be subjected to this religious law in the future?

Why on earth has someone sent you "very disturbing pictures of homo sexuals"?

We won't be "subjected to this in the future". What makes you say that?
Just the thought of sharia law is terrifying, disfiguring people like they do is an absolute disgrace to mankind!!
It doesn't matter what we think wildwood. We are infidels so our opinions are without value.
I don't think we will be subjected to this religious law in future. Young Muslims growing up in this country will be educated and will become a different species from their parents and grandparents who came here from backward societies. They will not choose oppression over freedom.
I really hope you are right Naomi, I find these punishments, especially on children so barbaric!!
They are barbaric Ratter, but it's not something any of us will have to be subjected to.
It's happening now Ratter. The young people are becoming westernised - much to the distress of their parents. I think when they came here that was something they hadn't bargained on.
Bluestone, are you suggesting that it is ok as we wont be subjected to these acts?

What a strange view you have!!
Well said Naomi. This is exactly how I feel. Especially when women have the vote here. why would any woman vote in a repressive regime which treats them like chattels?
Bluestone, I really think a lot of people, especially those who live in areas of high immigration, have similar fears - and understandably so. When 'Sharia Law area' stickers go up on lamp posts in your neighbourhood, it has to be a little unnerving, wouldn't you say?
No! Not at all. Jeez!
I said I agreed with you, Ratter, is is barbaric. Not for one moment do I think it's "ok". Far from it.
I just don't agree with the OP, who says "we will all be subjected to this religious law in future".

Not making light of what goes on.

There will always be the extremists, in this country also, that think this kind of behavior is right, but it will never get to the point where we are subjected to it. That's all I'm saying, Ratter.
"When 'Sharia Law area' stickers go up on lamp posts in your neighbourhood, it has to be a little unnerving, wouldn't you say?

No. Not all. I am British, and only British law applies to me. In fact, I would tear it down!
Anngel, //why would any woman vote in a repressive regime which treats them like chattels? //

Some would - but they're the ones who do have a voice and are politically motivated. They're also the ones who over the past few years have suddenly taken to wearing the uniform of Islam - the burka.
This is supposed to be a peaceful religion, at least that is what is said about most Muslims living here, but it doesn't say much for the young men who go back to visit their respective countries and come back with anti-English ideas. Shari'a law is dreadful and has no place in the modern world. It seems to be a catch-all situation where the faithful are made to toe the imams' line. It is causing a lot of stress among younger muslim children, hopefully they will be able to compromise in years to come.
Bluestone, Good. I'm pleased to hear it - but can you not see why it worries people who've lived in a neighbourhood all their lives and, in recent years, have seen it change almost beyond recognition?
My point is that under Sharia law women don't have a vote. And the burka has its advantages...imagine never having to muck about with your hair or makeup when you went out...

Nami, I'm not sure I agree entirely. While a lot of Muslims do become Westernised a lot of the younger ones are the ones becoming radicalised and turning to extremism, sometimes horrifying their parents, who truly were peace loving. Their parents came here to work and make a better life for themselves but younger Muslims find themselves caught between two cultures and in need of something to turn to.

However, the radicals are not representative of all Muslims, although stringent effors should be made to ensure the sort of barbarism spoken about above doesn't enter the UK, in the name of ANY religion.
And the burka has its advantages...imagine never having to muck about with your hair or makeup when you went out...

.......and we wouldn't have to look at Susan Boyle any more.
I agree with that part, anngel - resident women I met in Saudi had the most wonderful outfits on under their hijab, but we tended to to wear anything - Donald Duck t-shirts and leggings....

I still don't understand why anyone would send wildwood such unpleasant files.
Naomi, ok fair enough, I do understand why it may worry people, yes. However, Muslims only account for 5% of the UK population. It would take a long, long time before Sharia Law became the law in the UK - if ever! I do think people worry about this more than necessary....

Anngel - stupid answer!
