As with many things it is only bad for you in excessive quantities.
I read that earlier and the defence said it came from working with chemicals in his job.
That's the US for you! Bet there are no scientific papers showing any danger. But, as always, you can find some expert to support a claim and the case is decided by a jury, as are the damages, so you've always got a run.
Lat night's CBS News had a scare story about rice. It contains arsenic, both from the soil and from fertilizers. That looks like a promising area for litigation! There are lots of potential claims for almost anything in the US.
