It seems the immigrants have a better work ethic. Meaning they want to work. And in general they are better educated than the unemployed here.
Bit of a blow to the racists.

Maybe Mr Pickles Curry College, will help redress the balance..
The reason it doesn't effect unemployment is that immigrants do the jobs that the indiginous population won't do and because they get free money they donl;t have to. So where as the statement is true it is somewhat artificial. Our basic problem is that we give money to those who add nothing.

If there were no immigrants to do the jobs then employers would have to pay more to attract the indigenous workers, hence market forces would find the true wage for each job.

d9f1c7 how could you get a layabout chav who is illiterate to do a responsible job? A nice idea but this is the real world.
so all the people on benefits are illiterate layabout chavs are they? The lib dems will take that one on for me no doubt............

There are lots on benefits that could do the jobs but won't because they get more to sit on their arrises. That's because we pay people to much to do nothing, get it?
//Immigration doesn't affect unemployment.// That's illogical. More people, less jobs to go around.
No - more people, more demand, more work, more jobs
^that assumes that the supply of jobs is fixed, which it isn't. If an immigrant comes to a country and starts a business, it can then employ 10, 20, 50, more "natives" and everyone can be better off.

Teddy Boy, how can it be tosh? More people, less jobs. Simple logic.

Dr b, it doesn't assume jobs are fixed - and I actually wish more would start businesses.
Methinks teddy boy is twisting words to suit his own views.
ok so not all, so let's focus on the rest, my point still applies.

d9 you asume employers have a never ending pot of money. if you raise wages you raise the cost of production which raises prices which raises inflation. And still the layabouts wont want to work. Understand?
Teddy Boy, I suggest you take the trouble to read the replies. I didn't say you were twisting anything - and stop shooting the messenger. It's a sure sign of a weak argument.

owdhammer said twisting.you said illogical.try to keep up dear.please.
what one should be asking is how after endless years in school, they come out illiterate? If more young people than ever are getting decent grades, how can they be dim, illiterate, or are the figures from the respective schools, universities misleading.

naomi read redhelens reply. and actually think about it for more than a second.
There are no "messengers" here, just people giving their own personal opinions, so shoot away! :-)
