Yet another killing on the streets of our capital this time on a crowded Oxford Street.

Even while medics are tending the stabbed gang member, other chose to attack the police, why?

The Guardian reports that /// Scotland Yard has denied deploying a Taser to control youths at the scene of the fatal stabbing of a teenager in front of shoppers on Oxford Street during the Boxing Day sales. ///

Why do Scotland Yard see the need to defend the fact that one police officer was seen to draw his Taser gun?

Even if he found it necessary to use it, he could not be criticised in such circumstances, that is what they are for, that being to immobilise such unruly an violent individuals that refuse to respect authority in such circumstances.

It is time these thugs learnt that they can't just do as they like.

With only a few days to go,the competition for 'Oddest Question Of The Year'is still open with strong contention from:

"And more importantly should these gangs be allowed to take over our streets?"

I would like to counter with:

"Should the Pope resign his post and join the Red Hot Chili Peppers on bass guitar?"

/// You'll understand after that! ///

And what is that sp, why they don't speak English?
The Oxford Street murder was a tragic loss of a young life. Made all the worse because it was over a pair of cheap training shoes. Sadly, from highwaymen to Victorian robbers, criminals have murdered for relatively small material goods. There is probably no solution to stopping murderous robbing, just make sure that when the perpetrator is found, they are taken out of society for a long time.

I will not comment on gangs, Tasers, attacks on the police and that the trainers may have been stolen, as that is just supposition at the moment.

After reading SP's latest post, things are becoming a little clearer now, of why we have the problems we now have.
AOG

There is more than one form of English. The London Caribbean accent is no less incomprehensible than a Geordie accent. Both are Englush, but neither is how you probably speak.
Both are English, even.
Kinell - it's all to do with the development of the 'urban accent' and isn't peculiar to the UK - white, black and Asian kids in large cities have seen their accents converge to create a whole new one that didn't exist as recently as 20 years ago. Think about Lauren's accent (The Catherine Tate Show), or indeed Vicki Pollard's...

It's a strange new accent which crosses racial lines - and is definitely not a fake Carribbean brogue.

Just thought of a prime example - have a listen to 'Bonkers' by the awesome Dizzee Rascal.

I thought that we had advanced since the days of the 18th and 19th centuries, but apparently not, I wonder who are dragging us back to those violent and murderous days of old?
People are sometimes so deliberately disingenuous.
The scoundrels who attacked and murdered Stephen Lawrence would have felt at home in the18th or 19th Centuries. Is it people like them who you feel are dragging us back?

No, no, no, no, no - this thread MUST end with a stirring criticism of blacks in general.

That's why the OP posted the question in the first place.

I'm horrified that it's taken two pages to get to this inevitable conclusion.

C'mon man - get with the programme.
My my sp, is that a boulder I perceive on your shoulder? I have only read AOG and other abers including myself tell it as it is - if the criminals are white then that is how it is ( as in the Salford murder enquiry) if they are black then they are black.

Dizzee Rascal, isn't he also black, I suppose with role models such as him it is little wonder some blacks speak the same and accordantly, is it any wonder that it is also rubbing off on some white youths.

Maybe that is what Dr David Starkey meant when he said "whites have become black"?
You really think that robbery would have ceased by now if we weren't 'being held back' by persons you won't mention?

It is interesting to note that in the 5 contributions sp1814 has made to this thread, he has not offered up any condemnations against the killers of this opposing gang member.

Surely this gives out a certain message?
Not sure what agenda others are pushing but here are some facts and figures for your perusal.

Make of them what you will:

/// You really think that robbery would have ceased by now if we weren't 'being held back' by persons you won't mention? ///

Who said anything about the much lesser crime of robbery?

We are talking about opposing gangs of thugs who are knifing and murdering each other on our streets, and in this particular case in front of innocent men, women and children going about their Boxing Day sales shopping.

You may not show much concern, but it is a fact that I certainly do.
aog, if more people used Dizzee Rascal as a role model then many youths would speak a little strange to you but be highly creative, hard working and entrepreneurial, Dizzee Rascal is a tremendously bright young man.
"Surely this gives out a certain message?"

The message is perhaps that sp1814 is neither Tony Blair nor David Cameron dishing out condemnations of all and sundry without having a clue who they're talking about...
I doubt that the answer to your question
// I wonder who are dragging us back to those violent and murderous days of old? //

I doubt that your answer is the likes who shoot a lad in the head in Salford.
