Now the Taliban are really going to take notice of him, perhaps he can fool some of the British people but he is dealing with a different can of fish here.

/// He stressed, however, that Britain would continue to provide support for Afghanistan after the end of combat operations in 2014.///

/// He pointed to the creation of an Afghan national officer academy modelled on Britain's Sandhurst.///

/// It will open its doors in 2013 and accept 1,350 recruits annually. Some 120 UK troops will be involved in the training.///

Why do we have to, not only train the Afghans but also provide them with a Sandhurst type of establishment to train their officers as well?

metaphor alert.... kettle of fish... can of worms...

Well, if you think Sandhurst turns out good officers, why not export the brand? That's the sort of thing that keeps the example of British quality alive around the world now that its fabled engineering specialities seem to have gone belly-up and the BBC is being torn apart by RebelSouls..
What Cameron says, and what he actually delivers are two entirely different things.
very true, Gromit - they may be expecting Sandhurst and get Grange Hill.
The Taliban cannot be reasoned with, they demand death or conversion and the imposition of planetary Sharia.
