It's a debit card over in the UK. You hand it over at shops and the money comes straight out of your account.

I'm selling a high value item on ebay and some "australian" wants to pay by switch.

Hi again ab. I may have been a little hasty. Seeing you were risking a transaction, I have checked the website of the Commonwealth Bank Of Australia and they mention Maestro for international transfer of funds. See here:
