All this bluster from the Tory Government about the robbery of the People's Game is so hypocritical.

They have been robbing [and will continue to rob] the People of their Transport system, their Postal service, their Public Utilities, their Health Service to gift them to their Cronies, putting Profit before People. But when a few Football Clubs take the same approach they burst fourth with sanctimonious outrage. And why ? Obviously a vote catcher for the May Elections. What a shower.

In fact the government can tell right from wrong, and they support the ordinary football supporters in opposing this now failed plan.
When I was a lad, football teams 'belonged' to towns. Wigan Athletic was a Wigan team with a 1 in 4 slope cinder pitch and no reputation at all. Wigan RL team was the best in the world and played at Central Park (Wigan, not NY!). They had fans who lived in Wigan. Later, kids started following teams they saw on the telly box, wherever they came from. Nowadays, fans can live in Timbuctu and follow Man U. The world has changed, and money rules everything via advertising and the reptilian new world order.
