I trust that most here are aware of the petition. A chance for remainers to show that there is a lot of support for their position. Have you voted yet?

I think I will take up a new hobby - watch the numbers on the electric meter change ;-)

Talbot, I can see you don't want to explain to remainers how to cheat the petition!
"Do the leavers get to challenge it with an online vote ???"

Nothing to stop someone doing that. Get off the phone and start a poll would be my advice :-)
I get on average about one a day of these petitions, the only ones I sign are the ones to do with animal welfare, though I may as well not bother, because nothing ever gets done, but I guess it makes people think they are 'doing something.'
It's a lazy way of 'action' - the gilet jaunes more direct methods have at least achieved something beyond politics, I read that two thirds of all French speed cameras have now been disconnected!
So an online poll is more powerful than an official ballot box vote ???

LOL
They also check for "suspicious" activity.
I suspecy that includes multiple email addressed form the same IP.
All these things can be got round, but the sheer faff of it alone would be a deterrent.
Earlier today the numbers were actually droppping slightly, which suggests some filtering out was occurring.

I think there already is a pro-Brexit petition.
for 'disconnected' read vandalised
Ps ich. Whilst I'm on my phone. I'm going to ask for last nights lottery to be drawn again as I didn't win !

Good luck, Klazo!
//an online poll is more powerful than an official ballot box vote //

don't give them ideas - next thing there'll be a "Brexit Idol" TV show with a £3 a minute voting line....
ichkeria
You can use multiple email addresses: that is the obvious way. Although it would be a laborious process to do it to the extent that would matter. That is why it is highly unlikely there are "bots" at work.

Fixed it for you.
The remainers are crackers...I'm going for an average of 5 times each.
Question Author
Khandro, so you're in favour of vandalism?
Done. Just awaiting my reply from Camelot.

I've also put a request into FIFA as I'm also not happy with France winning the 2018 World cup.
That should give this English people a New hope :-)
Lol @ mushroom25 ;-)
//Khandro, so you're in favour of vandalism?//

When it comes to speed cameras, - most emphatically.
May should ignore petitions and protest marches. Where would Tony Blair be today if he paid attention to that sort of nonsense, eh?
A small hint: it has to be a petition asking for something the government can actually do something about ;-)

I am not really a fan of these petitions. But I couldn't resist this one :-)
Question Author
I hope you're all talk, Khandro!
It plainly isn't going to be Theresa May much longer. ..
I find these online petitions are a waste of time. I've signed a few and they get debated but ultimately they are ignored by the Government!
