I would've thought that a politician changing their mind is a healthy sign - the bedrock of a democracy; the whole point of having a talking shop. It's certainly better than a PM who surrounds themself with yes-men, something Thatcher did.
Certainly taken to extremes it would appear as weak leadership, but given that no one party holds a monopoly on good ideas, I think it indicates a sincerity rather than an arrogance.

Wish I had noticed this posting sooner. Yes, I agree. A government that listens and is capable of modifying its approach is better than a dictatorship. Any coalition government will face challenges. I don't know the origin of these words, but how true -'you can please some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you will never please all the people all the time.'
