Boris is as thick as a blank of wood. He's got a golden opportunity to hold back the Indian variant, but NO open up on Monday and let it rip. Anyone with any brain what so ever would hold fire for at least until the 21st June to give more time to vaccinate more people. Even after all that's happened over the last few months, he still can't see the wood for the trees. What a complete dip stick.

What's a blank of wood?
It's when you can't see the wood for the trees :-)

P, hows that for you.
Off, how;s that for you?

^^ you have got a full day going on.
a blank plank
no - yes - I think he say Trump letting it rip and thought - well it is possible to ride the storm

alternatively - we cant have another lock down we have no money

as for being loo-loo and a leader - Churchill was ga-ga in 1952 and didnt do so badly
You have to admit TC,your first 9 words are a tad ironic. P.S. don't know what "a full day going on" means.
Frankly I can’t wait for next week to meet with friends and have coffee. I’m fully vaccinated and, as there are almost no Covid cases where I live (local news gives accurate figures), I can’t see any reason to stay semi locked down.

Well Marg, that's part the problem, I've been vaccinated, I'm alright jack ( I think?) What about the ones that are still waiting for the vaccination, let them fall ill?
There would have been riots if the government had changed the loosening on May 17th. Luckily there are a few weeks before the next steps hopefully we will know a bit more about the Indian strain then. I know I would have been deeply depressed to have what few things we are able to do now taken away. I will continue to be careful, of course.
I've only just got my appointment and I'm exempt from wearing a mask (I do wear one) I thought I'd be higher up the list. My OH, fit male who hasn't seen a doctor in years, got his invite before me. And he's younger than me!
what a load of equine faeces TC.
Right thing to do, we cannot stay in lockdown for the rest of our lives. I’m sure if necessary he will make further changes where necessary. I never did see the 21st June happening anytime soon. It’s a nightmare for any leader and all you do is criticise, obviously a Labour supporter.
So in TC land, otherwise known as cloud cuckoo land, we should keep trashing the economy because there are a few variant cases. Most of us are vaccinated, derrr! This as a Blank of wood?? Look in the mirror love.
Wasn't TC the one who was boasting about driving out and going for walks and picnics on the riverbank at the height of the first lockdown? Hypocrisy writ large.
There are at least two things that spring to my mind: The United Kingdom has not been nor is yet blessed with the ability to deal well with things, even when what works elsewhere which just needs to be copied is readily available - belatedly taken up more recently, and it worked. In tackling the present case the country has always had the huge advantage of being an island but wasted it for 10 months or more. Managing the inevitable leaks coming in should have been maybe not a walk in the park but certainly attainable.

The other is that people (in the UK) seem to see the running of the country as a dictatorship, his eminence Boris being the dictator - is that really so ? Again a comparison with others: The politicians are nowhere to be seen, the competent authorities propose, design and implement a public guidance/education programme together with setting rules for restrictions in public life - and the public enthusiastically complies (there). The government approves the recommendations of the competent people with an analogous involvement to that of the queen signing UK legislature. This works and the countries concerned, certainly not the politicians, never refer to themselves as the World's Best, etc. The UK could have copied but the World's best need by definition to do things in their unique way - can you hear the 130,000 dead clapping on their doorsteps ?
Jack - I don't think TC was mixing with other people though.
good old karl , never miss a chance to spout a load of anti British BS. Well done hope you have a nice warm feeling.
//The other is that people (in the UK) seem to see the running of the country as a dictatorship,//

Well Labour is to blame for that. A good Government is made by a good (not necessarily confrontational) opposition holding them to account. We don have an opposition in any shape or form.

Boris is correct to continue with lockdown release. If you feel threatened then dont go out.
