Sorry for yet another post on the AZ vaccine

A colleague of mine - his mum suffered multiple blood clots after getting this vaccine .

Makes you wonder if this vaccine is a problem

Are these countries being over catious?

He hasn't ellaborated
on her condition
There are risks with any jab, including the flu jab. Out of the millions that have had it, the number of people who have had problems are minuscule. I would much rather have the jab than get covid. Everyone I know had the Oxford jab without any problems, including myself.
It's awful for his mum - was she on warfarin or anything to thin her blood if it was a bit thick? riptide has it really. I had immense tiredness and a headache for 24 hours with the Oxford, no real problem; I'm often worse with my annual 'flu vaccine. OH, on the other hand, is still needing treatment 3 months after having the Pfizer vaccine and, quite frankly, I'm beginning to get worried about him he is sleeping so much because it really seems to have knocked him for 6. We all take our chances and hope. If you are older and/or vulnerable then you do the calculation. :(
^^^ In other words, I think the other countries are being rather over-cautious.

That is an extraordinary statement without qualification. Figures vary, but the stats suggest that in 5 million doses 30 people have shown to have this condition which in all likelihood have nothing at all to do with the vaccine.
Absolutely! This really is a "my cat is a dog" non sequitur.
The truth is that the EU has made such a monumental cock-up of the whole vaccination programme, & it is disingenuous & purely for home consumption of these countries to suggest they are showing caution for their citizens.

I have been trying here in Germany for a fortnight 5 times a day to get an appointment online (the only way) for a top priority person aged 84. They simply do not have the vaccines & are attempting to cover their mistakes by pretence of care.

I heard that Germany and France have plenty of AstraZeneca, but no one wants it now.
Hoppy: //I heard that Germany and France have plenty of AstraZeneca, but no one wants it now.//

Then why can't I get the appointment for this person?

It's another ruse to allay culpability - "Don't blame us, blame the public."
i got the awful shakes with that vaccine, which lasted some hours,
i will have the second jab when its offered though as feel
the after effects may not happen.

i think these countries are being over cautious, after all many millions have had the astra zeneca one with no problem
If you're old, have an underlying illness or overweight /obese I reckon it's safer to have the vaccine..I haven't heard any figures comparing AstraZeneca to Pfizer on blood clotting though.
The rate of people with clots is currently lower than there would normally be according to the health minister so I`m not sure linking the vaccine and clotting is valid till more detailed research has been done.
Have just been reading an article about this though I'm not sure when it was written. It said there have been 37 reports of clots in Europe with 17 million people being vaccinated. So far there has been no research to see whether these people would have got clots anyway. Basically it said the risk of covid is higher and to carry on vaccinating. Germany has wasted thousands of vaccines.
It would seem that every 37 seconds someone in the Western World dies from a blood clot.
Has the average increased due to the AV vacvine.

I’ll stick with the advice of the WHO.
