Many people I know have started going out and about to Starbucks to get coffee, to go play basketball with their friends.

Last I heard (the speach from Boris) was more regarding work than leisure...

Danny last announcement was 12th of may. Apparently there was news yesterday / over night?
Basketball is allowed according to the PM

So are these the rules?

"those who cannot work from home should now speak to their employer about going back to work
you can now spend time outdoors and exercise as much as you like
you can meet one person who’s not part of your household outside, provided you stay 2 metres apart"

As far as step one goes?

Basketball is a sport that gets people breathing in each others faces.

Doesn't seem a good idea to me.
TD, Not aware of anything new last night. Anybody?
No Danny
TD you have been given a link to .gov.uk read it
Basketball is included as it is not a contact sport and there are only a handful of players per team.
Ken //Basketball is included as it is not a contact sport//
I have never seen a basketball game where there has been no contact.
i wonder if the footballers will stop their disgusting habit of spitting when they return to action?

"TD you have been given a link to .gov.uk read it"

If you read the thread, you'll see that I have.
From the link "From Wednesday, rules have been relaxed to allow people to use outdoor sports courts or facilities, such as a tennis, basketball courts or golf courses - all with members of your household, or with one other person while staying two metres apart."
It's not for full-scale games, but would allow the normal shooting practice you do when you get a basketball and a net.
I am surprised about tennis as you both touch the same balls- okay for a household member but maybe not for a friend

Maybe it's because yesterday was Wednesday, which is when Boris said step 1 would be introduced.

Ah, lockdown has my days mixed up :D

Maybe it's because it was day two of step one, so people were following what others did on day one.
I don't think 'they' thought about the ball touching aspect, FF.
TD //Maybe it's because yesterday was Wednesday//
On planet earth yesterday was Thursday.
Just checked. It's definitely Friday.
