I've just bought a new 2 seater roadster and in a couple of weeks I'll be heading off to Whitby in it, but not before travelling the back way from Pickering up to Goathland, where they filmed Heatbeat.

What are the 20 top 1960's songs I should stick on to a CD to recreate that sense of driving in the 1960's over the moors in a little MG Midget or whatever they had then ?

There are at least 5 Cds entitled Heartbeat.

some good tunes in that list....see, I cant think of many and then when you mention them, I'm like 'oh yeh' how could I forget that one... I really only know Beatles stuff and I'm not a great fan of them..
Hmm - well, I can actually remember seeing the Beatles on the roof of the Apple Building...
OK, in that case your task for the weekend is to buy a copy of Procol Harum's greatest hits and work out why "Whiter Shade of Pale" was John Lennon's favourite song...

And then listen to A Salty Dog and Grand Hotel until you understand why they are even better...
Goatland is also where the train journey part of Harry Potter was filmed.

Stop Stop Stop - The Hollies
Legend Of Xanadu - Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick And Titch

Without doubt the worst cover version in the history of music...

They played the chorus, the second verse (of four) and then the chorus again.

Talk about completely missing the point...
