I've seen some really nice looking headphones around like Skull Candy & Koss brands, but are those retro-type headphones still fashionable?

Because I absolutely hate in-ear style headphones, but i need to be able to listen to my MP3 player at the gym.

Urgent advice needed

Thanks

I'm with you, I loathe in-ear headphones, and i use full-size 'cans' to listen.

That's because I don't care too hoots what anyone thinks of what i look like. If you feel the same way, go ahead and purchase what suits you.

thx andy, can u help me out with this then seeing as u are not biased towards in-ears like most ppl:

i just ordered a pair of these off amazon... http://www.flust.no/ImageStore/091547_1_kv.jpg

but its too late to cancel and ive emailed them because basically i would like closed headphones but cant afford them but ive found these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000BX103C/ref=pd_luc_mri?_encoding=UTF8&m=A1UZ3Z36GITL6J) which are similar to the ones ive ordered and are cheaper and look better.

so which of those two do u think look better in ur opinion??

I'd go for the second pair personally, for use outside the house anyway because they are lighter to carry and look better.

If you have to have the first pair, just re-advertise them on eBay and sell them on.

A.
They are not "still fashionable"

but they are fashionable again.

Though are you worried about looks or sound... if your worried about sound then go here (but they do look cool too)

Shure make some great 'cans'... expensive though...

Andy - normally i would but i can no longer sell on ebay due to my unwavering principles (they overcharged me about 25 and didnt respond to any of my email or letters and i couldnt be bothered to go to small claims over it) i may try classifieds tho if Amazon dont let me off by cancelling it for me (im gunna ring them in the morning methinks)

Chuck - i was thinking of sound and all the reviews say the first pair outperform the Sennheiser PX100 - but now i realise they look a bit robotic and i dont wanna look stupid lol

i think im just going to get the second pair and hope Amazon let me cancel - if not i'll try to sell them on craigslist or a classifieds site or something
Sorry, I wasn't paying attention - long day - if you cancel with Amazon, they may charge you a 'handling fee', but it will precent the hassle of having something you don't want, and selling them on.

Hope you like your cans!
Grado have just released a new model that is for once reasonably priced and looks great. The model escapes me at the mo as im at work but they won a recent review of Headphones under 100 in What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision.
Im getting some once payday is here!
I've had a pair of Sennheiser that I've used for djing for over ten years now. They are great headphones...
