During the mid to late nineties there was a track released in the charts that had a sample of a woman scatting before the beats kicked in. It went a little something like this: "Doodo do daa. Do doodn doodn dooodn dub." ........ yeh like that's gonna help!!! If anyone has an inkling the milkybars are on me.

It wasn't Mr Vain by Culture Beat was it ??
It wasn't Doop by Doop. Dutch group, revival of Charleston?
Maybe a bit earlier than you say, but maybe Crystal waters Gypsy woman??
But Doop by Doop was an instrumental but could be the one you are after. Give it a try. It was released in the midish 90's (94 I think) and was a #1

It sounds like the remake of the charleston song to me but you've already said no to that. Not the start of Suzanne Vega's dance remake of Tom's Diner then is it ? If not you've lost me !!!
