In this hymn there is a line which refers to a purple headed mountain. Does anyone know what this means? Is it some reference to heather on a mountain? I read somewhere that the colour purple relates to Easter?

Anyone help at all?

do you know, I'd always assumed that line related to heather, which coloured the mountain purple when in flower. Common site on Scottish mountains. Be interested now to know if my long held assumption is infact, totally wrong lol.
I agree. I think it's the heather at the top of the mountain.
