I sang in Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo at school, and spent many years looking for a CD. I found one a couple of months ago in Bank's, York.

It's sung by the King's Singers

It's on the Vocalion label and its catalogue number is CDLF 8120.

There's an email on the CD insert:

www.duttonlabs.demon.co.uk

and an address

Vocalion, PO Box 609, Watford WD18 7YA

Good luck!

The school I was at that did this production was near York - what was your school called?

In Truro, I'm afraid, about as far from York as it's possible to get and still remain in the same country. I came up here as an economic refugee some years ago. So no, I did not play Shem to your Ham.

all the best atoach

but I bet when you got to York it rained and rained and rained and rained

Indeed, and I've seen a few floods too, perhaps not quite as bad as

It looks like rain

The world's a brimming jug

The water's round my shoulders and I'm

glug glug glug

Actually I played a singing crocodile, and on mature reflection a crocodile is exactly the sort of thing that would do quite well out of a flood, what with all the dead sinners floating about, so what was it doing on the ark ?

We also did a staged version of Hiawatha's Wedding Feast with Coleridge-Taylor's music interspersed with Longfellow's verse. I was Hiawatha's mother as there was no role for a crocodile.

Iknow your post re Captain Noah is quite old, but I felt I had to reply.I was in this play back in the early 70's.I played a rain drop in the flood.I was nearly Hams wife, but didn't have a good enough voice.

Japhet,Shem and Ham,fetch a ewe sheep and a ram, duck and drake, and bull andcow and **** and hen.Male and female .........,armadillo and anteaters.
Every living creature that walks upon the earth or creeps upon it's belly on the land......

Can't remember the rest.
God this brought back great memories

Thanks
