I'm sure this has been done before but not recently.

Nothing too obscure, please, and give a reason.

I would banish Substitute by The Righteous Brothers and too many others.

Nobody should be prepared to be second best.

The Drifters - You're more than a number in my little red book.

"you've been took" grates every time I hear it!

How Bizzare - OMC, it's not so much the song but it used to haunt me wherever I went it would be playing somewhere...

One of the worst earwormed songs ever for me, I just get out of my head and it pop on the radio somewhere in earshot.

Flash by Queen. I have been a big fan ofthe band since hearing their first album in 1973, but i'll never know what possessed them to compose this trash. Now being used in an advert and i can't reach the mute button quick enough. Rant over.

I knew you were going to post that when I saw you in latest posts. 😃

10:48 yes I agree I also am a huge fan of Queen and that does grate with me too. Especially the advert that uses it. I've not heard the fulll album from the film, are there any better tracks on it?

Do they know it's Christmas.

It was awful when it first came out, and over the years my hatred has morphed so much it makes me angry when I even hear a snippet of it (I only ever hear a snippet because it gets turned off as soon as I hear the opening notes - and yes know how irrational this sounds).

Saw a great documentary on Paul Weller a few years ago, and he was asked why he looked so miserable in the video. His response was "well it's a dreadful song".

Delilah

Murder prompted by jealousy

TTT, I'd say 'The Hero' stands out that isn't clearly a soundtrack song... even Mercury's 'Football Fight' (Instrumental) even though a 'whole' song belong's as a soundtrack song but I like it.

The CD is 10>20 on Ebay, may get that.

Some great suggestions.  How Bizarre caused earworms for me to, probably due to the repetitive drone.

I was also bewildered by Queen's Flash.

Do They Know it's Christmas as a song is dreadful - even Geldof said he is responsible for writing the world's worst song.

It is more of a music score album, unlike A kind of magic which are whole songs for the film Highlander.

There's been a few song about murder - Bohemian Rhapsody, Hey Joe, Where the Wild Roses Grow.  Bet there's more than a few in the rap, grime, drill genres.

Depends on your interpretation of BoRap, Barry. When asked what it was about, ~Freddie said the song was open to whatever interpretation the listener came up with.

For what it's worth, mine is that although he didn't come 'out' as gay to Mary Austin until '76, realisation dawned on him in '75.

"Mama, just killed a man" is, imho, his way of saying i've killed the man i was. "Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth." No-one needs to agree with me, of course. Just my opinion. 😊

"Shaddup you face" by Joe Dolce...if for no other reason, it kept Vienna by Ultravox from number 1...and that wasn't even their best track (in my opinion)!!

11:47 yes good shout I remember it well.

Ruby by Kaiser Chiefs.  I have to turn it off before it gets to the chorus because it gets stuck in my head and I can't stand the song.

If you're anything like me 237sj, it will now be in your head.

Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby...

Come on Eileen. It's my number one most disliked song.

There's No-one Quite Like Grandma.

Ugh! So sweet, cloying and sugary. Yuk!

We once did something like this before & the outright winner was, 'I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool " by Donny Osmond 😄
