I agree - and the guitarists are awful
He was embarrassing at the last royal bash. Quit at the top is good advice. For PMcA that was about 1975 with Wings

you would have thought he could have shaved too ...

Yes, he's been dreadful for years, but tonight it's even worse!!
He sails happily upon the good ship Ego.
Well he’s brought some good lads with him :-)
And despite moaning about it I did half watch it till hey jude. I just looked up and said to Mr b "is that dave ghrol" and he said "who?".
Philistine.

I didn’t see the beginning, The crowd loved him.
All things considered, he was really good.
Will see if I can watch on BBC iplayer or YouTube tomorrow.
Never been a big fan of PM but at 80 what would you expect. You have to give him 10 out of 10 for a 2 hour plus show. If you are a fan its more about seeing him.
Didn't see his performance, but he got some great reviews in today's papers. Crowd calling for encore after encore, apparently.
Paul McCartney is as good as he is at 80, because he's a vegetarian.

allegedly.
I did flick over to it just to see him,but if your not a fan or follow his music you soon flick back. But all those fans can,t be wrong, can they?
He did look very good.
Well I thought he was dreadful the last time I saw him on TV and so expected little last night and intended to go to bed shortly after the start. However I was impressed and stayed up until the very end. Yes his voice is not as strong as it once was, (I guess that’s why his mike was never turned up fully) but what a performer! At 80, standing up, playing and singing for way more than 2 hours was impressive whatever you think of him or his voice. And he did a long encore! It was an interesting set list but the crowd seemed to love him and sang along with tunes which emerged long before they were born. I only wish I’d been there but I couldn’t stand for that long even if only watching!
I didn't see it either but didn't Bruce Springsteen put in a surprise appearance? That would have made it worth watching for me, an equal legend to PM.

Personally, I don't regard Paul as a legend, just part of a legend, but each to his own. For me, the two most talented Beatles were John and George. I haven't been impressed by any of Paul's songs since the Beatles.

I think he looks 80 facially to be honest, but modern hair and clothing makes him look younger.

I think it was obviously going to be enjoyed by fans regardless of Paul's actual performance, which was dire in my opinion.

And, there are other oldies performing who can still sing. Paul's singing voice is dreadful now.

All that apart, i never did like him ;0).

Thanks for your comments. I didn't go to bed, we just changed channels. I haven't been very impressed this year by any Glastonbury, but Noel Gallagher was watchable. OH didn't think so!!

Oh, I'm sorry I missed Bruce!

I forget who said it on TV this morning but I agreed.
Paul tends to make music that he likes now, and for his own enjoyment, not always what his fans want.

He also stated that much of his music is not very well known or played often. So if you had been a fan in the 60s 70s 80s you may just want to hear those hits. Anything else would seem awful.

Tom Jones is another that springs to mind that is still trying to cling on now and again. But can you blame them? they still enjoy it even if we don't.
