Will Stack Hi-Fi Systems Ever Be Popular Again?

Years ago I gave away my pretty extensive vinyl record collection and VHS collection to a charity shop. In recent times those formats appear to have become quite fashionable again. Some of them serious collectors items. I see that people are struggling to sell stack hi-fi systems on ebay for as little as £50. Mine comprises good name brands, and I'm loathe to give it away...partly as I fear they'll make a comeback one day and I'll feel robbed. It's cluttering my home though. What would you do?

get rid
I don't know if this is what you mean by stack Hi Fi systems ?

I have got a separate , turntable for vinyl / amplifier / speakers - bought donkeys ago

Vinyl are back in fashion , so i'm glad i did not get rid of my separates system ( even though over the last few years , her indoors has questioned me as to why i'm keeping them and not getting rid
of )

Richer sounds are selling them ( and they are in the know ) so i'm keeping mine
If you are still buying or planning to buy vinyl, keep it.
I have a large vinyl collection with decent hi-fi separates too...Rega Planar deck, Denon tuner-amp etc but am still able to play digital stuff and stream (eg Spotify, internet radio etc) through the system...and it sounds many times better through the system with large decent speakers than through what passes for a "sound system" these days.
So, I'm never getting rid!
Were stacking systems ever popular ? Convenient to site maybe.

I think the vinyl upturn is likely mainly an enthusiast market. I see albums that have already make wealth beyond imaginings priced laughably high. I don't see the advantage over CD, but accept the quality is better than the commoner download formats.
if you dont have any vinyl records, why keep it?
If you regard it as clutter then sell or give it away. If you keep everything in case it comes back you'll end up living in a museum or like the hoarders you see on TV.

Separates are back already
I cannot ever see them being popular again. Few people sit indoors listening to music and even fewer are that critical of the sound quality to any significant degree. I don't see why people should keep something the size of a small tea chest when they can use something that fits in their pocket.
If you have anything to play, and it is in good working order, I would keep it. As a cluttered, I wouldn’t have ditched the vinyl collection.
