Check out this by Todd Rundgren from 1973 -

Of course, the genius at work is Todd, who wrote I Saw The Light, and all the songs on his double album Something / Anything, for which he played every instrument, one by one (no computers then!) mixed them, and then sang all the vocals as well.

The copying, consciously or not, was done by co-writer Ben Findon who co-wrote all Billy Ocean's early hits, and the same for The Nolans, so maybe it wasn't on purpose, only they know!

Oh gawd, let's be honest, who cares?
Baldric, are you simply going from thread to thread to disrupt them or are you going to tell us what the problem is?
Lawyers, Baldric, currently contacting AB Towers for a postal address to send the libel writ to. :-)

Baldric - // Oh gawd, let's be honest, who cares? //

If you don't, I can manage without your input on this occasion, it will be difficult, but I'll get through somehow
Andy, you're quite right in your assessment , not much is new - I did used to think sometimes it was subliminal rather than accidental.

Or was it simply money that was the key?
Shocking! I may have trouble sleeping tonight.
Or was it simply money that was the key?

I'd go with that, Mamya.
How melodramatic.

There is no problem apart from the lack of substance in tonights posts.
It's the EU and the R C church I tell yer!
I wish someone would correct the spelling....
Plagiarism.

Happy to help. :-)
Not for nothing is there the saying: where there's a hit, there's a writ. Ask George Harrison, Richard Ashcroft, Ed Sheeran....

"plagiarism"

Yep, me too
Add Robin Thicke to that list, gg.
Happened a lot in the 50s and 60s too. More recently, many of One Directions singles borrowed intros from other songs- including Summer Nights /What Makes You Beautiful and Midnight Memories/Pour some sugar on me.
Noel Gallagher is quite open about teh influences for some Oasis songs. i recently heard something that was almost identical to Importance of Being Idle. Cigarettes and Alcohol = a T Rex song, Half the World Away= This Guy's in Love with you, and Shaker Maker =I'd like to teach the world to sing

Still sounds great to me though
Ha. Found it. Direct copies of teh intros
