Does anyone know the name of the simple tune we could all play on the piano as kids? Not chopsticks, it is much slower than that and is played within one octave (I think).

It starts with three of the same notes.

I've tried humming it to Shazam but I'm very off key

Is that the one where you play the black keys as well?
I don't know if it had a name but I think I know the one you mean. Basically it was composed of the chords of C major. I used to vary it with embellishments, using three octaves.

I can't remember, but I think so. :) Actually it starts with the same four notes but there is a longer pause after the third.
I know the one you mean as well but I can't remember the name either. Did it have a name?
can you wash a sailors shirt ?
The one I'm think of was in 3/4 time. A waltz tune.
Was it ," The way you looked tonight",? (Something like that!) or, "because you're lovely, the way you are,/ look tonight"?? I used to play it all the time
I don't think that had been written when I was little, Patsy. :-)

I remember 'Oh, can you was your father's shirt?' Mallyh.
Ah, the one I was thinking" The way you look tonight" Frank Sinatra
Play it and see

I was thinking of 'Lady in Red', or ' Wonderful Tonight' :-))))
I haven't got a piano any more!
I recognise that tune as "Jesus Hands are kind hands" .... "doing good for all..."

Nooooooo, nothing so complicated and certainly nothing that was ever in the charts.
This really is a very simple tune that can be repeated in a loop
