I am trying to find suitable music for a humanist funeral, nothing too dreary, but not "bang and twang" either. Its for the beginning, and the contemplative bit in the middle. Any ideas?

He was 95, didn't listen to music much.
I am in the process of arranging a funeral/cremation and we have chosen Ode to Joy for the first piece, Ave Marie by Katherine Jenkins for the committal and a song by Susan Boyle to complete. These choices are based purely on what type of music the deceased liked.

words seem appropriate for humanist
moonlight serenade by glen miller
I'm planning to have 'Intermezzo' from Cavalleria Rusticana for one of my pieces.
