Name Of Soul Singer

Hi,

I saw a singer on an old episode of Jools Holland and have forgotten his name. Description:

-black American male
-very old, 70+ years old
-singing soulmusic with an unusually high falsetto voice, I actually thought it was a woman singing
-wearing a tuxedo, standing next to Jools Holland who was playing piano
-he looked quite small in size and I think his name is 'Little.....(something)'

Any ideas? Thanks a lot

Sounds a bit like Smokey Robinson. He's in his mid seventies.

Google "LIttle Jimmy Scott". A Jazz singer with a very unusual contralto voice.

He's nearly 90 now, but he was on Jools a few years ago.
