Hi folks :)
My question to you is this: Is there an old (how old may depend on you) that constantly plays in your head, that is to say comes to mind whether prompted or not. Just for the record mine is this:

I know I said that I was leaving
But I just couldn’t say good-bye
It was only self-deceiving
To walk away from someone who
Means everything on earth to you

You learn with every lonely day
I’ve learned, and now I’m (I’ve come) back to stay

Let me try again - let me try again
Think of all we had before - let me try once more
We can have it all - you and I again
Please forgive me or I’ll die - let me try again

I was such a fool to doubt you
To try to go it all alone
There’s no sense to life without you
Now all I do is just exist
And think about the chance I’ve missed

To beg is not an easy task
(but) pride is such a foolish mask

Let me try again - let me try again
Think of all we had before - let me try once more
We can have it all - you and I again
Please forgive me or I’ll die - (please) let me try again

seems most morning i wake up with after all- cher and peter cetera in my head. I think its because my alarm beep has the same tone as 1st few cords.
you mean like an earworm? No, songs come and go, often unwanted, but there's none lodged in my brain permanently.
Mine is Roger Miller's "King of the Road".
Brown Eyed Girl. It always reminds me of a beautiful dog I once was lucky to have.

HI guys, thanx for all your great replies. To JNO, sorry I didn't word my question too well, diddle I ?
I didn't mean it to sound as if this song stays permanently in one's bonce - lol. meant, rather spasmodically during the night or day. Thank you for your time. :):
oh, well, the one that sticks in my head from time to time is Stanley Holloway reciting "With her Head Tucked Underneath her Arm". Drives me crazy - I'd sooner have Sinatra any day! But it usually fades away after a day or two then reappears months later.
Come Fly With Me
captain beaky and his band, the bravest animals in the land
Oh What A Night by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, I don't even really like it but often find myself singing it out loud.
Vivaldi - Nulla in Mundo Pax Sincera.
Lydia the tattooed lady by Grouch Marx.
"Que Sera sera, whatever will be will be". That got me over a bad break up many moons ago.
"Do You Feel Like I Do?" by Peter Frampton
