Henry Africa's in Oldham was a favoutite when I visited the town.

It was owned by a transvestite and had some interesting cabaret acts. A very different experience to my soft, southern club experiences.

Brilliant nights out there though.
Le Kilt in Bournemouth when very young but (sadly) didn't really get into clubbing until an older divorcee. Most fun nights had at Bumbles in Bournemouth (famous for grab a granny every night). Loved it.
I had difficulty remembering what I'd done in here on the mornings afterwards

so there's not much chance of me remembering it over forty years later ;-)
I use to frequent Whisky a go go in the West End and the Marquee where I saw the Small Faces!
Never went to nightclubs but Mr BD used to go into Manchester a lot with my brother. They went to the Jungfrau, the Twisted Wheel, the Oasis and the Jigsaw. He remembers getting a stamp on the back of his hand if they wanted to go out of the club. They changed the stamp and the colour each night so you could not cheat and get in for free. Remember Henry Afrikas as we moved out to Saddleworth at one point and used to do my shopping in Oldham.

Mid '70's Top Rank in Reading when work allowed, and the Grab a Granny nights in The Royal Hotel (I think) in Norwich in the early '80's usually provided some memorable entertainment.
Tiffany's in Manchester I used to love as it was a bit more laid back than most clubs.
Placemate 7 (ex Twisted Wheel) I got dragged along to, if the lads were 'on the pull', but never really got into - couldn't handle 7 dance floors with 7 lots of music in what was basically a mid-terrace house.
One I can't remember the name of (help anyone) was in a basement on a side street next to Kendals. Just a Heavy Rock jukebox blaring away all night.

No ff, but some of the guy's and gals used to go to the Sunday all dayers there
although I never went. It was usually a swim at Wigan municipal council swimming baths and then the coach home for me, but others went into Manchester to the Ritz.
Get those carpets rolled back....♫

Ah yes Footsie, some of the dancers for that record were recruited from the Catacombs Wolverhampton when it was played on Top of the pops.
