Parking near to T junctions

I live close to a T junction, but leave my car on my driveway. Other nearby residents park their car almost directly opposite the junction, and some very close to the junction, on the same side, blocking line of sight for cars coming out. We have recently had a car lose its door as it was being openend just as someone came out of the junction who then hit it. Plus all the traffic clogs to let people in/out. Its not ideal and I would prefer parking to be banned close to the junction.

I am fairly sure there are highway code rules about how close one can park on the roadside near to a T junction. Can anyone clarify them simply for me?

Here's the relevant part of the Highway Code:
http://www.highwaycode.gov.uk/22.htm#217

Note that, unlike most of the other paragraphs on that page, there's no red 'Law' reference at the end of the paragraph. That means that the contents of that paragraph aren't actually embodied in statute law. However, the courts can consider breaches of the Highway Code rules when deciding whether a motorist has committed an offence. (In the days when we had 'proper' traffic wardens, rather than council parking officers, I've seen them using tape measures, in Clacton, to determine which cars were to be given tickets for 'obstruction' because they'd parked too close to a junction).

If the vehicle is causing problems with the view of other vehicles then this could be a case of dangerous parking. Also, if the vehicle is parked in the same position at night there is an offence of "parking within 15 meters of a road junction during the hours of darkness"
