Noticed this morning that the BP near me is now charging 130.9 for a litre of diesel, it has gone up a penny a day for the last few days!
How can they justify putting up so much over the holiday period?
Will it go up even more in January or is it unaffected by the vat rise?

Think it won't be long before the haulagers will be out on strike and blockading fuel depot's again.......oh joy time to dust of the old push bike!

Yes, can't wait for the 20% VAT! You want to worry...I use around 160 litres a day in the truck and our rates haven't gone up!!
Is it not unreasonable for garages to raise their prices over Christmas (if they are open) to cover the extra costs of staffing?

Of course it will be interesting to see if they go back down after Christmas.
Not just VAT, isn't there a rise in duty due now?
Fuel duty rises by 0.76p (+VAT) per litre on 1st Jan.
VAT rises from 17.5% to 20% on 4th January.
The aggregate effect of those rises will take fuel, currently priced at 130.9p per litre, to 134.6p per litre.
Fuel duty rises again, by 1% above inflation, on 1st April.
Oil reserves are starting to dwindle, with political insecurity in many of the world's oil-producing regions.
So don't expect to see any reductions in fuel prices!

... and a Happy Festive Season to you too, Chris.
So everyone is moaning! well, you had your chance to back up the Transport fuel protest, while you people keep paying the price, the prices will go up, who's to blame? you bloody lot by paying it.
As most garages do not fill up daily but the price you pay does you can only put it down to exploitation. The garage is buying at a cheaper price then increasing it to you because of the market price of oil.
iTS TO BE HOPED NEXT TIME THE HAULAGE FIRMS GO ON A FUEL PROTEST SOME PEOPLE ON HERE WILL BACK THEM NEXT TIME! FUEL PRICES ARE A JOKE IN THE UK ANYONE KNOW ANYBODY SETTING UP FUEL PROTESTS IN THE NEAR FUTURE. SURELY IT CANT BE LONG!
Bluebully, what are you shouting for?
My diesel costs me 20 pence a litre. Make it from used cooking oil which saves the oil from disposed of. Cleaner exhaust emissions and saving the worlds oil reserves. It's the way forward!
