I have a peugeot 106 (99/2000) of which I believe to be mk2.
As of now, I do not have power steering although, Under my bonnet is what looks like a pump with the power steering symbol above it.

According to wikipedia it says mk 2's have power steering if not the possibility to do so.

How can I identify if it has the possibility to do so, and if so, can someone give me a rough estimate on how much it would cost, to have it done professionally and/or by myself.

I also ask the question, Is it possible my car has the power steering function, but is missing power steering fluid, how could I find out?

can't you just ring or go into peugeot to find out.
they should have a record of your cars spec and should be able to answer the questions you have. also ask them for a price on doing the work but take it to a peugeot specialist rather than the dealer to have work done.
I am pretty certain it will already have power steering its an electric driven pump the same as my daughters Saxo they are mechanically the same. They are also prone to failure. If you google Peugeot 106 or Citroen Saxo power steering problems I'm sure there will be something there. I had to replace the pump on my daughters car cost around £70 from a breakers yard.
