Can anyone tell me if the cambelt is chain driven or not. I have had a look on the ford website but it does not state. I am pretty sure it is not.

I'm pretty sure it's a belt - however ford belt intervals are very high - 100,000 miles, I think 125,000 on the TDi s

Not sure I'd leave it quite that long though

Thanks Jake i was pretty sure it was a belt. Your quiet correct ford do reccommend changing after 100k there is no way i would risk it either.
The clue is in the name..Cam..belt or timing..chain!
Very few cars if any use a chain these days.
Question Author
I thought BMW used 'timing chains'
