im just in the process of buying a little vw golf s.d.i. deisel , and yes im going to run it on the "red" :-)

in reply to your title " petrol prices to rocket", where I am, they've done so already, prices were around maximum of £1.11/12 now minimum I can find is £1.16 if I go 5 or so miles away, otherwise it's £1.17 locally

I will be moving to where you live lol - prices here are at at best (and you have to go out of your way to find a st as cheap as) 113.9 and the highest is 124 - the highest being the norm unfortunately

the way to tell if a car or van is running red is when you press the accelerator the fumes are darker. if they do catch you they charge you tax on a full tank.

northern saw a 4x4 on ashton new road outside asda eastlands, soon as he moved off and pressed the pedal black smoke came out. it is easy for them to spot ?

EDDIE it was something i saw on tv. the ones running on red have no smoke.

No, But quite recently they have been using some form of dipper which they dip into your tank, and it shows wether it's red diesel or not.

Wont say too much, but a mate of mine sell's red D to bunch of coppers in GMP, lol. No word of a lie.
