Insurance companies are charging up to 40% more for motor insurance if you have a CD10 penalty - drive without due care.

That's what hurts - not the �60 fine.

well I suppose driving with due care is in order then Ethel!
Surely an insurance percentage uplift applies in many fixed penalty cases - its just the amount that varies.
Mine was 10% for an SP10 - but only on Mrs. BM's policy - not my own, which was not impacted.
