does parking a car on a hill cause damage??

LOL NewJudge, very funny.

But on a more serious note, parking on a hill won't cause damage. What you do is leave it in reverse with the wheels pointing towards the kerb if facing downhill. This will prevent it rolling away if the handbrake does fail.
If you're facing uphill, leave it in a high gear - say 3rd - and point the steering wheels away from the kerb. That way it can't roll away backwards in the highly unlikely chance of a properly applied handbrake failing.
leave in FIRST or reverse & point wheels at kerb as said.
(harder to spin the engine in first than third. ie. more engine braking. )
