starting problem

sometimes the car starts ok and then when the engine is switched of it wont start some one told us it could be the starter motor.we then rocked it back and forward in 4th gear and it started could anybody tell me if theyve had the same problem.on citroen saxo vts on 98 s plate

When you try to start the car does the starter turn the engine over each time or not?

it does turn the car over and someone looked at it today and think it might be fuel problem
