NIP - speeding

I have just received a notice of intended prosecution and apparently I was only doing 32mph in a 30 mph zone. Why would they even bother prosecuting? I was not aware of having been flashed by a camera and do not believe I wa speeding at all. Will I have to go to court over this pathetic charge?
